"The Dance of the Willows". oil on canvas 🙏 When I read psalm 1, I visualize the tree planted in rivers of living water to be a willow. Willows are known to thrive near bodies of water and survive under tough weather /conditions. Their flexible branches allow them to tolerate strong winds and their aggressive, deep roots allow them to survive droughts. Their growth cycle is extremely fast, being able to regenerate quickly if damaged. They model the person I am trying to be. I want to be able to move with the wind and storms instead of breaking under pressure. I want to be so unphased by my external circumstances because my roots run deep. And like the willow, I want to be able to get back up quickly when I fall. I don't want to succumb to condemnation and shame, but run fast to the arms of grace. I want to be planted near the living waters and dance through life with Jesus.
